Obituary

Today we celebrate the going home of our dear mother, mother-in-law, grandma, great grandma, great-great grandma, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend.

Inez Gardner Quesenberry, 90 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows where she had made her home for several years. She was born in Carroll County on September 26, 1926 to the late Coda Marion and Nora Kathlyn Horton Hull.

Survivors include her children and their spouses Merietta and Larry Lambert of Dayton, VA, Henry "Hank" and Wanda Quesenberry of Harrisonburg, VA, Linda & Gene Smith of Lambsburg, VA, Odell and Soo Yun Quesenberry of Fancy Gap, VA, Regina and Rusty Baber of Crimora, VA, and J.C. and Sharon Quesenberry of Linville, VA; ten granddaughters, Melody Brintle, Denise Woods, Melissa Sherman, Tina Estep, Karyn Collins, Angela Bryant, Kelli Sprague, Christy Huffman, Beth Lambert, and Brittany Davis; nine grandsons, who will serve as pallbearers, Jeffrey May, Carlin Quesenberry, Jason Quesenberry, Jody Quesenberry, Jared Quesenberry, Kevin Quesenberry, Mark Lambert, Codi Quesenberry and Devin Smith; 30, plus 1 in June, great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Donald Hull of Cana, VA, Lalah Edwards of Galax, VA and Douglas Hull and wife, Janice of Lexington, SC. Also surviving are the spouses of her grandchildren, her caregivers at Laurel Meadows Nursing Home, her sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Quesenberry was also preceded in death by her husband of almost 64 years, John C. Quesenberry; infant daughter, Bonnie Alease Quesenberry; grandson, Dale Hess; two sons-in-law, Dennis Hess and Mick May; and two sisters, Mary Ethelene Hull and Una Fay Melton.

The family will meet friends from 12:30 until 1:30 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with a Memorial Service immediately following on Saturday, February 11, 2017 conducted by her son, Rev. Odell Quesenberry. Interment will follow at the Horton Family Cemetery with graveside services held by her son, Rev. Odell Quesenberry.

The family would like to express a special "thank you" to Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows, the Alzheimer's Association of Patrick County and Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.

Instead of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Horton Family Cemetery or Laurel Meadows Resident Aid, 16600 Danville Pike, Laurel Fork, VA 24352. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
