Imogene M. Nester, 97, of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Nester was born on June 5, 1915 to the late James Zackary Mabe and Julia Grubb Mabe. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Early B. Nester and daughters, Joann Taylor and Mary Baumgardner. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Durward Beasley of Hillsville, Betty Modell of Palm Beach, FL, and Dorothy and JE Bolt of Willis; sister-in-law, Twila Nester of Austinville; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; two step great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Coulson Church of the Brethren at 3:00 PM with Pastor Harry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Coulson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
