Imogene Martin Barnes, 75 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Imogene was a member of Round Knob Missionary Baptist Church and known as the Cake Lady of Carroll County. She is survived by her husband Milburn Barnes of the home; son & daughter-in-law Michael & Kathy Barnes of Hillsville; daughter & son-in-law Cindy & Michael Mann of Pinnacle, NC; granddaughter Sarah Mann; brothers & sisters-in-law Ernest & Martha Martin of Hillsville, Jerry & Kaye Martin of Broomfield, CO, and Wade & Nevada Martin of Hillsville; and sister-in-law Maxine Martin of Galax.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 3:30 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Bobby Webb and Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the CC Webb Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 2:00 PM until service time.
