Howard Alfred Akers, 82 of Dobson, NC, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosco and Bessie Akers; brothers, J.W. Akers, Allen Akers, and Robert Akers; and sisters, Ellen Ogle and Betty Lineberry.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Donella and David Staples; grandchildren, Dave Staples, Dayne (Wendy) Staples; and Sheena Staples; great-grandchildren, Sean, Madison, Emma and Riley Staples and Malachi Shuman; brother, Dale Akers; sister, Jeanie Burnette; sister-in-law, Ilene Akers; several nieces and nephews; and close friends and caregivers, Dorie and Keith Fritzinger and family.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
