Homer Collins, 89 of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Collins was born in Carroll County to the late James and Rebecca Bowman Collins. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Lola Goins Collins; brothers Clinton and Jesse; and sisters Susie, Millie, Larma, and Sadie. Survivors include son & daughter-in-law Don & Ann Collins of Fancy Gap; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; 2 step children Mary Frances Terry & Family and Bob Goins & family; one brother-in-law Sammy Goins & Family; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Winston Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Puckett Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
