Hollis Vinton Goad, 90, of Dugspur, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mr. Goad was born in Carroll County to the late Charlie Browden and Ethel Vonie Phillips Goad. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife Sophia Phillips Goad; second wife Edith Goad; and brother Hansen Goad. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Lois and Avis Nester of Willis; sisters and brother-in-law Ovalene Quesenberry and Mardell and Roy Frazier all of Dugspur; grandchildren and spouses Paul and Lynn Nester and Ramona D. and Darrell Surface; great grandchildren and spouses Timothy and Selena Rice, Adair and Mark Lineberry and Victoria Morgan Nuckolls; and great-great grandson to-be Hunter James Lineberry. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Blevins and Brother Gary Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
