Hiram Cox 85 of Hillsville, Virginia formally of Indian Valley, Virginia passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Mr. Cox was born on July 2, 1936 to the late John Pilot Cox and Dinah Odell Quesenberry Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Laura Belle Semones Cox and a sibling John William "Bill" Cox.

Surviving family members include his beloved wife Nancy Webb Cox of the home, a cherished son and daughter-in-law, Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Cox and Wanda Mae of Woodlawn, Virginia, a step-son, Nolan Webb and Brenda of Floyd, Virginia, and two granddaughters, Christen and Nathan Thomas, and Ashley and Randy Walters; three great granddaughters, Hailey Bibb, Marley Thomas, and Lydia Walters; two great- great grandchildren, Braxton Thompson and Jaylin Thompson; brother and sister-in-law, Harold Leonard and Martha Lee Cox of Indian Valley, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law, Maxie Mae and Tazwell Layman of Willis, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Hebron Quesenberry and Dr. Ricky Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Semones Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. Military Rites will be conducted by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115.
