Hester "June" McGrady Bowman, 96 of Woodlawn, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Commonwealth Senior Living in Hillsville.  Mrs. Bowman was born in Carroll County to the late Herman and Mary Hester Bowman McGrady.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Guy Bowman; grandson, Brad Bowman; brothers, Dawes McGrady and Thomas McGrady; and sister, Virginia Bowman.

Survivors include her children, Sue and Jerry Liles, Libby Bowman, and Tommy and Penny Bowman; grandchildren, Greg Lyons, Kevin Lyons, Klee Liles, Chelsea Beaty and Damon, Cory Bowman and Allie, and Cody Bowman; and great-grandchildren, Evan Lyons, Alex Lyons, Kaden Liles, Piper Beaty, and Riley Bowman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Woodlawn Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dina Clower officiating.  Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodlawn Methodist Church P.O. Box 75 Woodlawn, VA 24381.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
