Herman "Edgar" Dalton a longtime resident of Roseville, MI and formerly of Hillsville, Virginia died Thursday September 23, 2010 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren Michigan. Mr. Dalton was born in Hillsville Virginia the son of the late James Roscoe Dalton and the late Elva Mae (nee:Jennings) Dalton buried at Jennings Family Cemetery
Ed worked in battery manufacturing before retiring. When he was not working he loved to tinker with his cars or catch a Detroit Tiger game. Also Ed was passionate about his family, grandchildren, and fishing. When time allowed Ed always took his yearly trip back to his family in Virginia... he never forgot where he came from.
Ed was the loving husband of Shirley Joyce (nee: Willis) Dalton whom he was married to for over 52 years. He is the dear father of Michael (Lila) Dalton, Laurie (J.J.) Pease, Angela (Clifton) Tabor, Cynthia Dalton, and Kelli (Michael) Buback,. He is the loving grandfather of Sherri (Clarke) Stough, Jennifer (Michelle) Pease, Christopher Tabor, Michael Joseph Dalton, Matthew Dalton, Zakery Buback, and Samanthe Buback. He is also the beloved brother of Clarence Dalton, J.B. Dalton, Anna Belle Whitaker, Conrad Dalton, Ferlin Dalton, Olen Dalton, Richard Dalton, Don Dalton, Inda Mae Quesenberry, Ocie Supthin, Kay Gardner, Winnie Gay Staples, Sue Easter, and Kathy Rothgeb. Mr. Dalton is also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Ed was predeceased by his stepmother Tokie Innis Dalton, and his siblings; Ivan Roscoe Dalton, Kenneth Isaac Dalton, Robert Alvin Dalton, Guy Clinton Dalton, and Cassell Dalton.
Mr. Dalton's services were private in Michigan On Sept. 23, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home. A Procession to the Jennings Family Cemetery Rt: 886 will immediately follow located in Hillsville Virginia. The family will be having a Dinner at 1:00pm right after at the Dugspur Rescue Squad Building. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Dugspur Rescue Squad 118 Double Cabin Road, Dugspur, VA 24325.
