Herbert F. Stone, 82, of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at his home. Mr. Stone was born in Carroll County to the late Hobert and Gertrude Parnell Stone. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clifton P. Stone, Thomas R. Stone, and Ronald D. Stone; sister-in-law, Nadene R. Stone; and brothers-in-law, Hubert Rose, Virgil Peverall, and Fredrick "Jack" King. Survivors include his wife and friend, Juanita Stone; daughters and spouses, Jeanne and Olen Gallimore of Austinville and Brenda and Danny Beasley of Hillsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Diane Stone of Grayson County, David and Leona Stone of Grayson County, and Dennis and Norma Stone of Manassas, VA; sisters and brother-in-law, Bertha and Tory Marshall of Austinville, Evelyn Rose of Evans, GA, Myrtle Peverall of Moberly, MO and Virginia King of Max Meadows; sisters-in-law, Goldie Stone of Austinville and Reba Stone of Max Meadows; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; and special caregiver, Glen Dalton, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Mr. Danny Beasley, Rev. David Bays, and Pastor Mike Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Parnell Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
