Helen Belle Vass, 88 of Hillsville, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Vass was born in Staunton, VA to the late George Booker and Cordelia Andrew Swink. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband James E. Vass, Sr. and brother Ted Swink. She is survived by her daughter Judith E. Danielian-Holland of Rockville, MD; son James E. Vass, Jr. of Port OConnor, TX; sisters Virginia Craig of Staunton, VA and Martha Taylor of Harrisonburg, VA; four grandchildren David L. Danielian-Holland, Janice E. Danielian, Catherine Holland, and Robert J. Holland, Jr.; and very special pet King James III.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Twin County Hospice P.O.
