Hattie Ivah Thompson, 85, of Dugspur, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Thompson was born in Carroll County to the late Dock Gillespie Thompson and Lillie Jane Bolt Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Edison Thompson. Survivors include her children, Patsy Mae Thompson of Dugspur and John C. Thompson of Christiansburg; brother, Carl Thompson of Laurel Fork; and grandchildren, Jerry Lee Gallimore, Elisha Dawn Gallimore, and Jessica Amber Gallimore. A graveside service with burial will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Pine View Cemetery with Pastor Harold Fenstermaker officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
