Harvey Moses Carpenter, 78 of Max Meadows, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at his home. Mr. Carpenter was born in West Virginia to the late Homer Moses and Bertie Alice Carpenter. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Winona Ruth Carpenter and sister Etta Mae Stone. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Rebecca C. and Terry G. Odum of Max Meadows; brother and sister-in-law Henry R. and Jayne Carpenter of Hillsville; sister and brother-in-law Brenda S. and Willie (Jim) Quesenberry of Austinville; two grandchildren and spouses Michael David and Wendi Odum and Vanessa Lynn and Jerry Robinson; and three great grandchildren Davin Michael Odum, Jasmine Monique Robinson, and Haley Nicole Robinson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eddie Dalton and Rev. James Witten officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 19, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
