Harriet Arlene Williams Horton, 82 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late William Edgar & Margie Amburn Williams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Estel Horton; a brother Fred Williams and two sisters Ruby Dell Williams and Fern Anders. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Jolene & Ronald Piner of Winnabow, NC and Linda & Roger Quesenberry of Fancy Gap; sons & daughters-in-law Daniel Ray & Patricia Horton and Kennard & Kathy Horton all of Fancy Gap; sisters Elizabeth (Beth) Gardner of Fancy Gap and Lila Faye Tolbert of Roanoke; grandchildren Chanse Horton, Quinn Horton, Cody Horton, Ashley Horton, Wesley Horton and Karrie Rogers; great grandchildren Hope, Grace, and Colt Horton; and special care giver Brenda Beasley.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jim Richardson, Rev. Jim Longest, and Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Semones Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oak Grove Church in Hillsville.
