Harold Thomas, 56 of Independence, passed away on Sunday September 21, 2008 at Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center. Mr. Thomas was born in Carroll County to the late Claude and Dorothy Willard Thomas. Mr. Thomas is survived by two sons, Gregory Thomas, and Brandon Thomas both of Dugspur; two sisters Phyllis Shelton, Roanoke; Janice Doscher of Phoenix, AZ.

Graveside services and burial will be held on Tuesday September 23, 2008 at the Gladesboro Cemetery with Pastor Duane Steele officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Gladesboro Lutheran Church on Tuesday starting at 12:00 until time of the service.
