Harold Lee Horton, 85, of Low Gap, NC, formerly of Dugspur, VA, passed away on Friday April 24, 2009 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife Maisie Horton, sister Lois Grubb, Linnie Gwynn, and niece Deborah Gwynn. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law Lloyd & Rebecca Horton of Floyd; daughters & son-in-law Carolyn Horton of Cana, & Wanda & Russell Oakley of Low Gap, NC; sister Mozelle Wampler of Salem, VA; two grandsons Eddie Oakley & Chris Oakley; six great grandchildren Austin Oakley, Ashley Oakley, Ethan Oakley, Addie Oakley, Aiden Oakley, & Ellie Oakley; several nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Chris Oakley officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 26, 2009 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The family says flowers would be appreciated however donations may be made to the Newman Cemetery , Webb Cemetery or the Liberty Baptist cemetery in Low Gap NC,.
