On March 3, 2017 Harold Stephen Gallagher died peacefully in his home. Harold was born on November 29, 1933 in Belmont County, Ohio to Anthony Stephen and Berlie E. Shockley Gallagher Washburn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a beloved step-father, Fred Washburn. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce and a graduate of the Bowman School of Watchmaking, Lancaster, PA. He earned both his private and commercial pilot's licenses. After serving on the Hanover, Ohio Village Council, Harold served as Mayor of Hanover from 1971-1975. Harold retired from the Department of Defense, Inertial Guidance Systems, at the Newark Air Force Station, Newark, Ohio.

Harold is survived by his wife Betty Cochran Gallagher; brother, Joseph Anthony Gallagher (Joan); daughter Joyce Elaine Gallagher Bulot (Mark); son, Richard Stephen Gallagher; grandsons, Stephen Harold Gallagher and Nolan Andre Bulot, as well as a great-grandson, Rourke Gallagher.

At his request, there will be no services. A private interment will be held at a later date. The Gallagher family would like to invite family and friends to the Hillsville Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM to commemorate his full and happy life.
