Harley Bolen Shepherd, 86 of Galax, has gone to be with the Lord Our God on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Stacy Lynn Shepherd. Mr. Shepherd is survived by his wife Ruby King Shepherd of the home; daughter & son-in-law Yvonne & Donnie Slaughter of Indian Valley; son David Shepherd of Radford; sister & brother-in-law Mozelle & Rex Coker of Richmond; brothers & sisters-in-law Howard & Betty Shepherd of Tazewell and John & Edna Shepherd of Fries; five grandchildren Stephanie, Justin and Daniel Shepherd, Sonya Gautier and husband Tony, and Joshua Slaughter; one great grandson Seth Gautier and special friend Betty Cox.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 3:30 PM at the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Bill Linkous and Zona Gayle Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday night at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church or to the Galax Volunteer Fire Department.
