Hallie Cox Stanley, 88 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Stanley was born in Floyd County to the late Samuel Jackson Cox and Nancy Etta Alderman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wise Stanley; a brother Samuel J. Cox and two sisters Gracie Hendrick and Ethel Moles. She is survived by her children & their spouses Linda & Lucky Goad of Laurel Fork, Luther & Geneva Stanley of Laurel Fork, Joe & Sue Stanley of Meadows of Dan, and Sandra & Gary Bartley of Lewisville, NC; brothers Duke Cox of St. Louis, MO, Lawrence Cox of Benning, California and George Cox of Laurel Fork; sisters Irene Cock and Edith Spence both of Dugspur; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; special caregivers Melva Stanley, Priscilla Niten and April Spencer; and a special thanks to Laurel Meadows for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Elder Tim McGrady and Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Shade Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
