Guy E. Horton, 70 of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Arlyss Emanuel and Alsie Mae Dalton Horton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Ewell Lee Horton and sister Vera Elizabeth Guynn. He is survived by his wife Alma Sue Horton of the home; sons & daughters-in-law Tim & Lisa Horton of Elk Creek and Tony Horton & Angie Webb of Woodlawn; daughter Tammy Horton of Galax; grandchildren Matthew Lawson-Horton, Alyssa Horton, Lily Leonard, Josie Leonard, and Krystal Sparks; and sister Callie Horton of Hillsville.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Sammy Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
