Granville Andrew Nester, 86 of Martinsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Nester was born in Carroll County to the late Dewey S. & Julita Sutphin Nester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Rava McGrady Nester. Mr. Nester is survived by his children Roger Nester & wife Geraldine of Henry, James Nester & wife Phyllis of Martinsville, William Nester & wife Katherine of Moneta, Alice Eure & husband Daniel of Henry, and Kenneth Nester & wife Theresa of Ridgeway; brother George Nester of Laurel Fork; sister Christine Kimble of Archdale, NC; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Sunday, March 30, 3008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Nester Cemetery in Laurel Fork with Elder Melvin McGrady officiating. Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
