Gracie Parnell White, 85 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. White was born in Carroll County to the late Elbert & Bertie Richardson Parnell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Collin O. White. She is survived by daughters & son-in-law Robin Elaine & Scott Anderson of Independence and Angela Kay Marshall of Hillsville; sons & daughters-in-law Tommy Neil & Coleen White of Solomon, MD and Norman Jay White of Hillsville; sister Opal Carrie Gravley of Hillsville; ten grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and six step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Sylvatus at 11:00 AM with Elder Ronnie Mills and Elder Richard Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, October 25, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
