Gracie E. Jones, 76 of Cana, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Mrs. Jones was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Friel and Hester Walters Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Edwards; granddaughter, Caitlin Newman; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Marlie Jones; daughters, Donna Hawks and Shelly Smith; grandchildren, Channing Hawks, Joshua Duncan, Rebecca Edwards, Nick Towe, Brooke Towe, Samantha Towe, Sheridan Smith, and Calvin Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Preacher Chad Crotts officiating. Special singing will be provided by Chenoa Payne. Calvin Smith, Dude Smith, Cameron Hodges, Harlie Cagle, Tommy Cagle and Murphy Jones will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. A private burial will be in the Jones King Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
