Grace Imogene Smythers, 76 of Woodlawn, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. Mrs. Smythers was born in Carroll County to the late Henry and Martha D. Frazier. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Adeen F. Sumner and Dorothy F. Utt; and brothers, Dale Frazier and R.C. Frazier.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Lee Smythers; son and daughter-in-law, Duane Allen and Sandra Smythers; seven step-grandchildren; special step grandchildren, Ryan Gibson and Destiny; fourteen step great-grandchildren; eight step-great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Zona F. Briggs and husband, John, Edith Frazier, Fern F. Hanks and husband, Donald, and Glenna F. Winesett and husband, Dean; brothers, Lloyd Frazier and wife, Edna, Kyle Frazier and wife, Katherine, and Herbert Frazier and wife, Jewell; and sister-in-law, Nora Frazier.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Woodlawn Church of God at 12:00 PM with Rev. Rhudy Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:30 until 12:00 PM prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
