Glenna Jane Wright Shockley, 72 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Shockley was born in Carroll County on December 12, 1937 to the late Glenn and Opal Wright. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister & brother-in-law, Elaine & Billy Jennings. Step-mother Edna Reese Wright, and sister-in-law Polly Wright. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Thomas R. Shockley of Hillsville, sons and daughters-in-law James & Cynthia Shockley, David and Sabrina Shockley, and Mark & Tracy Shockley, of Hillsville; and John & Christy Shockley of Wytheville. Brothers Paul Wright & friend Betty Goad of Hillsville Clinton & Dora Wright of Martinsville, and step-brother John Reece of Hiwassee; 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Little Vine Community Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Michael Shockley, Pastor Ed Richardson, and Pastor Terry Henley officiating. Burial will follow in the Shockley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
