Glenn Marvin Vass, Sr., 80, of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Vass was born in Carroll County to the late Clinton Franklin and Catherine Dalton Vass. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Clinton Jonah Vass; sister, Margaret Hackler, and brothers, Alfred Semones and Connie Lee Vass. Survivors include his wife, Helen Lee Vass of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Nelson Dalton of Hillsville and Carol Lynn and Roger McMillian of Galax; sons and daughter-in-law, Franklin Lee and Angie Vass and Glenn Marlin Vass, Jr. all of Hillsville; step sisters, Martha Ann Semones of Hillsville and Mary Jane Jones of Cana; step brother, Edward Semones of Martinsville; grandchildren, Robert Wayne Dalton of New Port News, VA, Joseph Aaron Dalton of Hillsville, Katie Marie Vass of Hillsville, and Anthony Lee McMillian and wife Mellissa of Galax; and great grandchildren, Logan X. Dalton, Brianne Nicote McMillian and Nathan David Sheets. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Plains Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 PM until service time. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
