Glenn Howard Akers 58, of Hillsville passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his home. He was preceded in death by his son, William Phipps; parents, Leonard and Pauline Marshall.

Survivors include his wife June Ward Akers of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Tina Everhart of Hillsville, and Shannon Phipps of Hillsville; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Sandi and Glen Brinegar of Fancy Gap, and Debbie and Jimmy Gravley of Fancy Gap; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Oscar Hill officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Akers family.
