Glendi (Sug) Branscome, 104 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at his home. Mr. Branscome was born in Carroll County in 1905 to the late Eli Garfield and Sarah Jane Lyons Branscome. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sadie Branscome and a son Jack Branscome. He is survived by daughter & son-in-law Betty & Kenneth Gardner of Hillsville; sons & daughters-in-law Donnie & Barbara Branscome of Dublin and Roger & Joan Branscome of Port Hill, Idaho; daughter-in-law Imogene Branscome of Hillsville; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Bays and Pastor Duane Steele officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Skyview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Twin County Hospice P.O. Box 106 Galax, VA 24333.
