Gladys O. Thompson, 87 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Thompson was born in Floyd County, VA to the late Johnny & Rosa Largen Sutphin. She is survived by her husband James E. Thompson of Laurel Fork; son & daughter-in law Alfred & Gaynell Thompson of Hillsville; daughters & sons-in-law Joan Tobler of Laurel Fork, Janet & Randy Roberts of Woodlawn, and Reda & Jimmy Branscome of Laurel Fork; two grandchildren Carl Sowers and Bonnie Sizemore; two great grandchildren Victoria Sowers and Shane Sizemore; sister Hazel Dowdy of Charleston, WV; brother Emory Sutphin of Dublin; and special niece and nephew Margaret & Roger Swiney of Meadows of Dan.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
