Gladys Marie Sexton, 91 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Sexton was born in Welch, West Virginia to the late Robert Emmitt Kemp and Offie Bond Kemp and step mother Ida Bond Kemp. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Sexton. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Betty Sexton of Hillsville; daughters and sons-in-law Alice & J.D. Thomason at Galax, Carolyn and Arlas Parnell of Hillsville and Phyllis and Jerry Lee Frazier of Newbern, NC; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Blue Ridge Fellowship Church with Pastor Scott Flippin officiating. Burial will follow in the Shockley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
