Gladys Josephine Keene, 82, of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at her home. Ms. Keene was born in Bradshaw, WV to the late Dave and Matilda Hickenbottom Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Crockett Keene and two sons Timothy W. Keene and Sammy D. Keene, Jr. She is survived by her children and their spouses Terry and Connie Keene of Barren Springs, Blaine N. Keene of Princeton, WV, Eugene and Diana Keene of Hillsville, Yvonne and Clinton Martin of Hillsville, Randy Keene of Jacksonville, FL and Gary Keene of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and three step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Galax Pentecostal Holiness Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Zack Royller,Pastor Jeff Pickett, and Pastor Ron Fredericks officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
