Gladys Lucille Edwards Tate, 81of Fancy Gap, passed away on Tuesday, April 08, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Tate was born in Carroll County to the late William & Nellie Mae Edwards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Tate and sons Clayton Tate and Elmo Tate. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Carolyn & Lee Gardner of Woodlawn, Rachel & Terry Davis of Fancy Gap, and Phyllis & Jay Grandel of Fancy Gap; son & daughter-in-law Donald & Gloria Tate of Michigan; sisters Mary Foster of Dobson, and Lettie Combs of Norfolk; brother Chester Edwards of North Carolina; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Independence Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Mr. Doug Goad officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 1079 Spruce Street Martinsville, VA 24211.
