Gilbert Wade Meredith, 58 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011. Mr. Meredith was born in Carroll County on April 29, 1953 to Grant and Mavis Meredith of Fancy Gap. In addition to his parents he is survived by his siblings and their spouses Doris Meredith of Mt. Airy, NC, Sherry Elaine and Matthew J. Siekierka of Rocky Mt., VA, Warren and Llewellyn Meredith of Fancy Gap, and Brian K. Meredith of Fancy Gap; two nieces; two nephews; and one great niece.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Hillsville Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kevin M. Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bluemont Cemetery, Skyview Baptist Church, Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department or Cana Volunteer Fire Department.
