Gertrude Mae Bates Williston, 74 of Dublin, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at her home.  Mrs. Williston was born in Fries, Virginia to the late Lonnie R. and Bessie Cox Bates.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jean Bond; granddaughter, Sierra Cook; brothers, Jimmy Bates and Ray Bates; and fur baby, Pimpy.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Williston; children, Lynn Pickett (Eddie), Lee Barrett, Joe Barrett, Bridget Bond Martinez (Ivan), and Chris Bond; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended friends and family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Chaplin Jason Cline officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fries.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
