Gerald Clarence Templeton, 72, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at his home. Mr. Templeton was born in New Jersey on March 24, 1940. He was preceded in death by his son, Shane Clark Templeton; mother, Emma Mae Templeton; brothers, Art and Bill; and a sister Niomi Ruth. Survivors include his spouse, Shirley June Templeton of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Jerald (Carl) and Stephanie D. Templeton of Hillsville, and Matthew Jay Templeton of the home; grandsons, Nathan Jordan Templeton, Ethan Kyle Templeton, and Devan Cross Templeton; father and step-mother, Clarence and Judy Templeton of Elkart, IN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Templeton, Frank and Joan Templeton, Jay and Patricia Templeton, Tim and Beverly Templeton, and Mark and Brenda Templeton all of Elkart, IN; and sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Templeton, Sandra and Robert Penney, and Judy Coleman, all of Elkhart, IN. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Sylvatus Christian Church with Pastor David Bays officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 3:30 until 4:00 PM prior to the service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
