Gerald Scott Sutphin, Sr., 71 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at his home. Mr. Sutphin was born in Galax, Virginia to the late Archie and Ila Sowers Sutphin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Sutphin.

Survivors include his son, Scott Sutphin, Jr.; daughter, Andrea Hawks; brother, Eric D. Sutphin; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Goad Cemetery with Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
