Georgia Rachel McGrady Dalton, 82, of Hillsville passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Clinton Dalton; daughter, Sharon Faye Dalton; parents, Spurgeon and Myrtle Worrell McGrady; brothers, Clyde McGrady, and Gordon McGrady. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-laws, Patsy and Royce McCraw of Cana, and Karen and Martin Slate of Hillsville; son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Barbara Dalton of Dugspur; grandchildren and spouses, Megan Lenora and Kevin Williams, and Zachary Ryan and Ashley Slate; sister, Joy Goad of Laurel Fork; sister-in-law, Mary McGrady of Bland, sister-in-law and spouse, Ila Mae and Roy Alderman of Galax; brother-in-law and spouse, Everette and Sue Dalton of Galax. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Ronald Mills and Pastor James Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family says flowers would be appreciated however donations could be made to Dalton Hill Cemetery or to Brenner's Children's Hospital. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Dalton family.
