George Charles Dawson, 61 of Floyd, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery County. Mr. Dawson was born in Grundy, Virginia on May 11, 1955. He is survived by his wife, Donna Mitchell Dawson of the home; children Charles Dawson of Bluefield, WV, Jessica Bates and husband, David, Julie Dawson, and Grace Dawson all of Floyd; parents, Doranzo and Julie Dawson; several brothers and sisters; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Floyd Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tom Simpkins officiating. Inurnment will be in the Wilson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
