George Harold Chappell, Jr., 67 of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Mr. Chappell was born in Virginia to George Harold Chappell, Sr. and Wanda May Gill Ryder. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Francis Chappell; sister, Norma Lynn Chappell; and brother, Larry Gene Chappell.

Survivors include his mother, Wanda Ryder of South Carolina; brothers, Ronnie Chappell and Timothy Ryder; and sisters, Renee Carpenter, Carolyn Thompson, and Juanita Proffitt.

A private service will be held in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
