Angell
September 27, 1944 – December 9, 2024
George Gilbert Angell, 80 of Indian Valley, joined Jesus and the ranks of Heaven's angels, on Monday, December 9, 2024. Mr. Angell was born in Winston Salem, NC on September 27, 1944 to the late Cashwell Jones and Mary Catherine Brown Angell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Angell Hege.
George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also a wonderful friend to many. Mr. Angell served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and cooking and was an expert tool and die maker, gunsmith, and one of the most experienced in wildlife management. George was a patriot and also strived to participate in any humanitarian project he could. There wasn't anything that he could not figure out how to do.
George is survived by his wife, Daune Daugherty Angell; daughters, Rebekkah Angell, Amy Angell, and Victoria Angell; sister, Jerrie Angell Cozart (Lester); mother-in-law, Sylvia Daugherty; sister-in-law, Dani Daugherty; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and countless friends and church family. He also leaves behind his special fur babies, Q and Spanky.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In honor of George and the life he lived, please spend time with those you love, and remember: God's way is better than any of our ways.
