Obituary

Gearl Bruce Beamer, 72, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at his home. Mr. Beamer was born in Carroll County to the late Robert Glenn and Frances Melissa Bunn Beamer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Don Beamer and Charles Beamer. Survivors include his wife, Linda Sue Beamer of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Wayne Beamer of Hillsville, Richard Dean and Amy Beamer of Galax, and Anthony Bruce (Tony) and Leigh Beamer of Hillsville; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Leigh and Richie Burnette of Hillsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Freeda Beamer and Keith and Adell Beamer all of Fancy Gap; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois Cloud of Fancy Gap, Alease and Roddie Iroler of Hillsville, Peggy and Jackie Horton of Fancy Gap, Shirley and Benny White of Galax, and Patsy and Ted Newman of Dugspur; ten grandchildren, Chris Hawks, Hannah Beamer, Seth Myers, Trenton McMillian, Kaleigh Burnette, Cassandra Burnette, Jasper Beamer, Kristen Colna, Logan Beamer, and Carrie Beamer; and four great grandchildren, Aleigha Beamer, Andrew Myers, Fisher Myers, and Jazlyn Colna. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Bays officiating. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
