Gayla Dale Stilwell, age 80 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at her home.  Mrs. Stilwell was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Earl and Virginia Lucille Ogle Dalton.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Edgar Marion Stilwell; son, Edwin "Marty" Martin Stilwell; and brother, Ronnie Dalton.

Survivors include her beloved friend, Clifton Phillips; daughters, Sabrina Shockley (David) and Christina Bond (Steve); siblings, Brenda Bazzle (Jim), Margaret Montieth (Dr. Gary), Lisa Daughtery (Dr. Harry), and Sanford Dalton (Theresa); grandchildren, Nichol Horton (Tyler), Ethan Jennings (Tia), Jacob Shockley (Dakota), Lauren Hannah (Riley), and William Bond; great-grandchildren, Manoah Horton, Elias Horton, Thomas Shockley, Emmalynn Shockley, Clay Hannah, Luke Hannah, and Everly Jennings.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Little Vine Community Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Carlan and Pastor Martin Slate officiating.  Burial will follow in the Little Vine Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Little Vine Cemetery or to Little Vine Community Church.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
