Gary Ronald Woods, 72, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Wendell Adkins. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Woods of Fancy Gap; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Richard Brown and Kimberly and Darrell Underwood all of Bluefield, VA, and Nicole and Keith Myers of Bland, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Douglas Hager of Peytona, WV; six grandchildren; and step-son Zachary Simmons of Fancy Gap. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Gladesboro Lutheran Church at 1:00 PM with Pastor Joseph Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 1:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund or Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
