Garth Edward Bauman, 92 of Galax, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Mr. Bauman was born in Wisconsin on April 17, 1931.  He was preceded in death by several siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Oleta Bauman; daughter, Shelia Edrod; step-children, Chris Dalton, Eileen Edwards and Melody Adams; brother, James Bauman; step-grandson, Steven Nelson (Kali); and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Galax Seventh Day Adventist Church with Arron Patton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Heath Banks Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115.  The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
