Garnett "Bud" Elwood Stone, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at his home in Christiansburg, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garnett and Carrie Parnell Stone; son, Douglas Stone. Mr. Stone is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Donna and Terry Smith of Floyd, VA; two sons, Ronald Lee Stone of Hillsville, and Clinton Otis Stone of Radford, VA; sister June Coltrane of Austinville, VA; step-brother Kenny Stone of Austinville, VA; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2:30 PM at the Parnell Cemetery in Austinville, VA, with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
