Garnett V. Horton, 78, of Woodlawn, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Sidney Verlin and Vida Rae Quesinberry Horton. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son Barry Odell Horton; brothers James E. Horton and Ivan Horton; and sister Betty Jean Jennings. Survivors include his wife Oleane H. Horton of the home; son and fiancé Jerry A. Horton and Stacey Deal of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Brenda Horton of Woodlawn; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Massey White of Dublin; grandson Mason R. Horton; granddaughter Adrienne E. Horton; special friend Sally Callahan; and special pet Bert. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 6:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Wendell Horton, Rev. David Johnson and Brother-in-law Allan Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4:30 until 6:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
