Freeda Mae Beamer, 92 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Beamer was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Willie Cassell and Virginia Alice Iroler Lyon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Elwood Beamer; great-granddaughter, Ellie Grace Beamer; sister, Maxine Utt; and brothers, Earl Lyon and Donald Lyon.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Nicky Patton of Galax; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Phyllis Beamer of Fancy Gap; sister, Marie Melton; brother, W.C. Lyon; grandchildren and spouses, Trevor and Averi Beamer, Michael Patton, and Shaffney and Jon Beaver; and great-grandchildren, Emmie Beamer, Tate Beaver, and Jonathan Beaver.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Gladesboro Lutheran Church at 2:00 PM with Bill Heim officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
