Freda Jane Goad Martin, 82 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Martin was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Flurnoy and Eliza Goad. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wayne Martin; son, Paul Flurnoy Martin; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Jessica Bobbitt (Chris), Heather Gwynn (David) and Joseph Martin (Andrea); great-grandchildren, Katlyn Bobbitt, Kassie Bobbitt, Kayla Bobbitt, Zoe Gwynn, Aubrey Gwynn, Eres Martin, and Baby Martin (on the way); very special caregivers, Morgan Stoneman and Vickie Stone; special friends at Hillsville Health and Rehab; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Mountain Valley Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Chris Burnette, Roland McCraw and Dewey Felts officiating. Burial will follow in the Isaac Banks Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
