Fred E. Alderman, 74 of Galax, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Alderman was born in Radford, VA to the late Willie & Isabelle Scott Alderman. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Frances Alderman. He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Kathy & Bryan Lowe of Galax, Isabelle & Dewey Jennings of Galax, Yvonne Mathews of Barren Springs, and Donna & Bulmaro Alva of Galax; grandchildren Tinsel Jennings, Travis Jennings, Kevin Alderman, Randall Alderman, Chad Maldonado, and Crystal Roberts; great grandchildren Kirkland Nester, Caleb Nester, Kaitlyn Hill, Dewayne Jennings and Savannah Jennings; brother & sister-in-law Jesse & Frances Alderman of Port Republic, MD; and sister & brother-in-law Lois & Tex Conner of Port Republic, MD.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
