Freamo Alvin Goad, 71, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at his home. Mr. Goad was born in Carroll County to the late Odell and Mozelle McPeak Goad. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Upchurch. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Cox Goad of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda and Tim Upchurch of Fancy Gap, Kathy and Todd Kirkland of Hillsville, and Cindy Caviness and Kevin Newhouse of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Lacy Upchurch, Joshua and Lauren Caviness, Bristal Upchurch, Kalley Kirkland, and Bryce Kirkland; great grandchildren Malaia and Keyanna Caviness; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lucky and Linda Goad of Laurel Fork, Roland (Cooch) and Shirley Goad of Willis, Randall (Butch) and Darlene Goad of Laurel Fork, and Ronnie and Delilah Goad of Laurel Fork; and sisters and brother-in-law Regina and J.C. Mabry of Bassett, and Geneva (Squeaky) Goad of Patrick Springs. A graveside service with burial will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Webb-Skyview Cemetery at 2:30 PM with Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the graveside service.
